Highest ever wingsuit jump set Guinness World Record by Jhonathan Florez

Highest ever wing suit jump set Guinness World Record by Jhonathan Florez

Colombian born stuntman notches longest, furthest, highest and ever wing suit jump

Breath-taking footage shows the moment a daredevil smashed four world records in one death defying jump.

Fearless Jhonathan Florez, 29, leapt from 37,265ft then flew like a bird reaching speeds of up to 100mph using a wing suit.

Jhonathan's high altitude stunt smashed the record for the longest ever wing suit jump, clocking in at nine minutes and six seconds.

The Colombian born stuntman also claimed the record for greatest horizontal distance flown in a wing suit, covering 16.315 miles as he battled through temperatures of -45C.

Jhonathan also bagged the record for the greatest absolute distance flown in a wing suit of 17.520 miles and the highest ever wingsuit jump.

He admitted he planned to take a break from his daredevil stunts - because they terrify his wife.

Jhonathan, who lives in Florida with wife Caci, 28, said: 'My wife is not to keen on me doing them. She is understandably worried while I am up there.

'It can be a bit of a dangerous sport - but it gives you a great sense of achievement.'

The professional film maker and photographer captured the dangerous stunt using cameras attached to his back and helmet.

He spent months training for his record breaking flight and had to wear oxygen masks to breath as he started so high up.

He rounded off the jump, having descended 33,000ft, by eventually pulling his parachute at just 4,000ft above the ground.

Jhonathan, who completed the jump in Colombia on April 20, said: 'It was just an amazing feeling when I completed the jump. It was the best moment of my life.

The Sturgis Buffalo Chip announced today that it will host the world record attempt for the Longest Motorcycle Ride Through a Tunnel of Fire by famed stunt rider and former record holder Toby Baker. Motorcycle stunt rider, Toby Baker, will attempt to reclaim the Guinness Book of World Record’s dangerous title of Longest Motorcycle Ride Through a Tunnel of Fire that will reach a temperature of 2900 degrees, collapse 9 seconds after lighting, and exceed a distance of 230 feet, a distance that has killed motorcycle riders who have attempted this dangerous stunt in the past. Witness this world record attempt by Toby Baker and a variety of other world record motorcycle stunt attempts by fellow stunt rider Isaac Faine at the Buffalo Chip during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, August 4th through Aug 11th.

In 1973 legendary motorcycle daredevil, Ken McKow set the world record for riding 130 ft through a Tunnel of Fire that stood for almost 30 years. In 1999, Baker officially shattered that record with a distance of 203 ft. Recently, Baker’s record was broken and now he is coming to the Sturgis Buffalo Chip and bringing the Guinness Book of World Records with him to reclaim his fire tunnel world record.

Toby and Isaac will be performing a variety of motorcycle tricks and stunts leading up to, during, and following the world record Tunnel of Fire attempt at the Buffalo Chip Campground® during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

The Tunnel of Fire World Record attempt will highlight a week of motorcycle stunt shows at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. Enrico Schoeman and Andre de Kock riders claim fiery Guinness World Record

Enrico Schoeman and Andre de Kock ride their Kawasaki sidecar combination through a tunnel of fire to set a new Guinness Book of World Records mark of 67.9 metres.

Two South African stuntmen have claimed a new world record at the Tarlton International Raceway near Krugersdorp.

On Monday night Enrico Schoeman and Andre de Kock powered their modified Kawasaki Z1000 motorcycle-sidecar combination through a 67.6m inferno to snatch the record for driving through a tunnel of fire from American stuntman Clint Ewing, who set the previous mark of 60,96m riding solo on a Suzuki superbike in Los Angeles on January 27, 2008.

The spectacular attempt, deemed too dangerous to be held at various public venues by Ekurhuleni health and safety officials, went off without a hitch. Once the diesel and petrol-soaked cardboard and steel structure was ignited by a pyrotechnics expert, there was a small window of opportunity for the pair to make it through. Guiness World Record rules require the entire tunnel to be burning from the time of entry to the time of exit.

With the flames reducing visibility inside the tunnel to almost zero, professional photographer Schoeman had to remain focused on a white line drawn down the middle of the inferno to keep the three-wheeled racing machine from smashing through the flaming walls with devastating consequences.

The crowd held their breath for several seconds while all that could be heard from within the crackling tunnel was the reassuring scream of the Kawasaki’s engine. Then, to a roar of approval, they blasted out the other side in a shower of sparks.

A victory “doughnut” added a last puff of smoke before the relieved pair punched the air in victory. When asked what it was like, motorsport journalist De Kock said it was “hot”. Still limping from a severe burn sustained while preparing for the event, De Kock went on to say he could have “held on a bit longer”.

World's Smallest Wingwalker set World Record - Indian Stunt Man Kiran Shah

World's Smallest Wing walker set Guinness World Record 2010 - Indian Stunt Man Kiran Shah

Actor and stuntman Kiran Shah has appeared in Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Indiana Jones — and now he's become the world's Smallest wingwalker.

The 4ft 1in star braved speeds of 120mph at 1000ft to complete his record breaking feat.

And the 53-year-old performer, who doubled for Frodo in Lord of the Rings, said this was his most exciting adventure yet.

Strapped to the wing of a 1940s Boeing Spearman biplane, tiny Kiran completed a ten-minute wing-walk.

He said: "It was great, I loved it - but next time I'll pick a warmer day.

"It was very cold up there. The wind was coming at me all the time and I could hardly lift my arms because of the g-force."

Kiran added: "I was nervous until I had the safety briefing.

"Once I know what I'm doing it's ok - it's the same with any stunt.

"I'm not bothered by heights because I've done high falls before. Flying is no problem for me either.

"I love any kind of action. The more dangerous the better."

Experienced pilot Martyn Carrington flew the plane for Kiran's record attempt at Aerosuperbatics in Cirencester, Gloucs.

He said: "Flying with someone Kiran's size is a pilot's dream - you hardly know he's there.

"With someone bigger, the resistance and drag increases and it can be a bit trickier.

"He did really well up there. Conditions were good but there was a bit of wind and it was bumpy and cold.

"Kiran enjoyed himself though. I kept looking up to make sure he was still with us and he was lifting his arms and waving.

"He's certainly broken my personal record for the smallest passenger - next time we'll do a loop-the-loop with him."

Kiran was born in 1956 in Nairobi, Kenya, and moved to India when he was 12.

He began studying film in India but interrupted his studies when his father's health caused the family to move to England, where Kiran's brother had already settled.

His breakthrough into the film world came in 1976, when he was asked to do stunts in the film Candleshoe.

Kiran's career took off from there and he appeared in more films, TV commercials and videos.

He appeared alongside Tom Cruise in Legend, was Frodo's stunt double in Lord of The Rings, and worked on worldwide smash The Chronicles of Narnia.

Kiran has held the Guinness World Record for the 'shortest professional stuntman currently working in film' since October 2003.

Mary Oladapo of Guinness World Records said: "Kiran once again proves that size isn't everything even the smallest of people can achieve the greatest of things.

"To be recognised by Guinness World Records as the Shortest Stuntman and now the Shortest Wingwalker is testament that Kiran's one of the world's greatest stunt performers, regardless of size!"
