Ricardo's and ROSANGEL's new Guinness World Record for the "World's Largest Pink Margarita" was certified at 7,627 gallons, surpassing the previous record of 7,039 gallons. To break this record Ricardo's used a 14 ft. tall 10 ft. wide tank, 4,600 liters of ROSANGEL Tequila (1,215 gallons), 5,000 gallons of spring water, 750 quarts of Kelly Y Gonzalez lime juice, 750 gallons of La Paz Sweet and Sour, 1,500 liters of triple sec (396 gallons), and 20 pounds of salt. This record-breaking libation will make a total of 81,355 -12 oz. pink infused margaritas.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel - World Tallest Statue coming up in Gujarat India
While the United States had been gifted the Statue of Liberty by France to commemorate the 200th year of its founding, Gujarat will go one up on the French by gifting a mammoth Statue of Unity to the country.
The statue will be called Statue of Unity and will be placed at Sadhu Bet, an island located 3 km away from the Sardar Sarovar Dam in the riverbed of Narmada. Incidentally, the Statue of Liberty is 93 m tall.
The CM made this announcement on the eve of the beginning its his 10th year as the Gujarat chief minister. He referred to this ambitious structure as yet another gift to the country after projects like the Mahatma Mandir convention hall at Gandhinagar and memorial of Shyamji Krushna Varma at Mandvi, Kachchh.
Talking to the media at GLS auditorium, Law Garden at a press conference organized by the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday, the CM explained the concept of the monument. He said every society has a history and great men who inspire new generations. Now, in the tradition of immortalizing the great men of Gujarat like Mahatma Mandir at Gandhinagar and the memorial of Shyamji Krushna Varma at Mandvi, Kachchh, "we will be building the Statue of Unity - the tallest memorial of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the world."
Explaining the details of the statue, Modi said, "It will be having almost double the height than the Statue of Liberty in the USA and five times taller than the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It will be a unique memorial which will have a museum depicting the life of Sardar Patel, research centre for subjects like good governance and agriculture technology, which were close to Sardar's heart."
The project will be developed with public participation through a registered society or trust under the chairmanship of the chief minister. "As the memorial will be the tallest in the world, we will be consulting and inviting experts from across the globe.
We will also be developing a dedicated website for the project, where everybody can make their suggestions for the rare project. Once the various technical studies like geographical survey and environmental study, project plan will be prepared. Once finished with these minutiae, it would be possible to complete the monument in 3 years. Presently, various experts and agencies are being searched."
The monument will have a lift and visitors can go to the top of the structure and have a panoramic view from Sardar Patel's eye.
According to Modi, the memorial will be a new chapter in the development of the tribal belt in the state, as it will open employment opportunities for the local tribal youth and boost tourism in the state.
New Bern barbecue master Tommy Moore achieved a Guinness World Record for the “World’s Largest Open Sandwich” Sunday, a whopping 1,336 pounds after it was heaped high and wide with barbecue and slaw.
Moore’s masterpiece was baked in a specially designed 10-foot-square oven engineered by Glenn Snader.
Official verification paperwork and video was put on its way to Guinness World Record headquarters in London.
A crowd estimated at better than 2,500 formed a ring around the tent that housed the oven and bun at Union Point Park. They cheered loudly as the weight was announced, increasing with the unloading of each tub of barbecue and slaw by a 30-member Bun Crew.
Moore helped smooth the toppings, using a paddle that was about the size of a boat oar.
After the huge sandwich was weighed, the crew began to shovel the ingredients into plates and served portions to everyone in the crowd. Linda Staunch of the New Bern 300th team said 2,000 plates were available and all were used, with hundreds more getting their serving on napkins.
The first people served were military members of the Navy and Marines.
“They serve us every day, so it’s my turn to serve them,” Moore said later.
Gov. Bev Perdue of New Bern was on hand, congratulating Moore with providing a free lunch for the town and making this a great Independence Day in New Bern.
She then pitched in and helped serve trays to the servicemen and later to people in the crowd.
Hector Torres moved to New Bern three months ago from New York and as he finished his barbecue plate, he said Sunday’s event was just another in a series of pleasant experiences he has had in his short time in town.
“It is a wonderful place,” he said. “The people here are so nice, friendly and polite.”
Betty Thomas, who handled the marketing for the world record, said the criteria included that Moore make a sandwich which weighed more than 1,000 pounds and that it be edible.
The bun-making included using 561 pounds of dough made up of 350 pounds of flour, 10 gallons of milk and 17 gallons of water. The 1,015-pound bun cooked for six and a half hours at 300 degrees.
Crews added more than 300 pounds of barbecue and slaw to complete the record sandwich.
Jay Phillips and his daughter Leanne were among the huge throng that surrounded the oven area.
“This is awesome,” he said. “We know Tommy and he’s a first-class guy.”
Moore paid for all the expenses involved in the project, but dedicated the effort to the city of New Bern.
“As I’ve said before, it’s not so much about the brick and mortar that make up the city. It’s about the people,” he said while mingling through the crowd shaking hands and posing for photos. “And the city has the finest people around. Look at all these people who came out to support us today. They are the proof in the pudding of what a great city we have.”
Moore has spent considerable time on the project in recent months, but he won’t be taking today off.
“Oh no, I’ve got to get the oven out of the park and take it to the restaurant,” he said. He plans to leave it on display at his restaurant on U.S. 17.
When Reggie Griffin of New Bern got his plate he had a one-word reaction: “Fantastic.”
“This is an international event, and it’s a great day not only for New Bern and the 300th, but all of Eastern North Carolina,” he added.
Worlds Largest Open Sandwich set world Record 2010 Video.
World's largest piece of chalk sits in Joseph Romano's classroom at Bishop Canevin High School, crumbling ever so slightly on one side.
Mr. Romano likes to write with big pieces of chalk, such as sidewalk chalk, much to the enjoyment of the 11th-grade students in his AP U.S. history class.
One of them, Nick Sylvester of Kennedy, decided to joke with Mr. Romano about making him an even bigger piece of chalk for extra credit, and the project to create the world's largest piece of chalk was born.
Typical blackboard chalk is manufactured from gypsum, which is a kind of calcium sulfate. Sidewalk chalk is also manufactured from gypsum, but it can be made from plaster of Paris and water, the method Mr. Sylvester chose.
Mr. Sylvester wanted to make the chalk in a 32-gallon trash can, and so he purchased enough plaster of Paris to fill the can more than halfway up. He bought 125 pounds of plaster from Home Depot for around $60.
Working with classmates Matt Durbin of Robinson and Terry Dougherty of Crafton, he mixed the plaster with 14 gallons of water in the trash can.
It took them about 15 minutes to adequately stir the mixture using a golf club and a metal rake, and it took three days before the mixture set.
The chalk is white, weighs about 270 pounds, and looks much like a normal piece of chalk except for its unusually large size and the patterning caused by grooves in the trash can.
"[The chalk] writes and everything," Mr. Sylvester said. "But it's 270 pounds, so it's pretty hard to write with."
To overcome that problem. Mr. Romano has been breaking off bits from its side, which has diminished the chalk's size a bit.
The boys said the chalk also lost some of its weight when it was removed from the garbage can. They cut the chalk from the garbage can, and as they were doing so powder came out and some chalk residue remained in the can.
Even so, they think they have created the world's biggest piece of chalk, and Mr. Sylvester recently submitted an application to Guinness World Records. Since there currently is no record for the world's largest piece of chalk, Mr. Sylvester completed an application for a new Guinness World Records category.
He said he doesn't yet know what he'll have to do to prove he has the world's biggest piece of chalk. According to the Guinness World Records website, it usually takes four to six weeks for the organization to respond to a record-breaking application.
To compensate for their time and effort, Mr. Romano will give the boys 15 to 20 extra credit points. Meanwhile, the chalk has found a permanent home in his classroom.
World’s Biggest Gold Coin in Vienna set Auction World Record 2010.
The world’s largest gold coin, a Maple Leaf worth C$4.06 million ($3.9 million) at current prices, will be auctioned in Vienna on June 25.
The coin, made of pure gold, weighs 100 kilograms (3,527 ounces) and is 53 centimeters (21 inches) in diameter, the Dorotheum auction house said on its website. It has a face value of C$1 million. Starting bids will be based on daily bullion prices, the site shows.
Gold climbed to a record $1,252.11 an ounce on June 8 in London and has gained 11 percent this year on investor demand for a haven from Europe’s sovereign-debt crisis. Purchases of coins are tightening supplies and boosting the premiums added to the price of bullion, according to dealers including Dublin- based GoldCore Ltd.
The coin is being sold on behalf of the liquidators of Austrian investment and venture-capital firm AvW Invest AG, Dorotheum spokeswoman Ingeborg Fiegl said today by e-mail. She was unable to identify the liquidators.
The coin, listed in the current edition of Guinness World Records, was previously on loan to the collection of Vienna’s Kunsthistorisches Museum, according to the Dorotheum. One side shows three maple leaves, Canada’s national symbol, and the other bears the image of Queen Elizabeth II, the auction house said.
