Sea Lion waterproof car - World’s fastest amphibious car
An amphibious supercar that its inventor calls the world’s fastest land-sea vehicle has hit the market — and could be yours for a cool $259,500.
The car, dubbed the Sea Lion, tackles both roads and water — topping speeds of 125 mph on land and reaching 60 mph in the water, according to its creator, Marc Witt.
He has been tinkering with the project since 2006 — but now wants to unload it.

“I will remain available as a consultant, engineer, machinist and psychiatrist for whoever decides to venture further into the amphibious record books,” Witt wrote on the website Fantasy Junction.
The Sea Lion, made of aluminum with a Mazda engine, is one of 25 car-boat hybrids gunning for the title of “world’s fastest amphibious land speed vehicle” from Guinness World Records, according to the listing.
The competition for world's fastest amphibious land speed vehicle may not be the world's largest. Only twenty-five machines are currently contending for the title. But the Sea Lion apparently stands out from the pack - apparently, because the Guinness World Record folks have yet to officially declare a winner.
Sea Lion was designed using CAD software and spread sheet calculations, by M. Witt, according to a press release. The vehicle is primarily, TIG welded 5052 Aluminum constructed from CNC plasma burned shapes and other CNC milled components. It has an integrated monocoque welded uni-body center section. There are removable side pods, used for floatation and cargo, and removable fenders front and rear.
