World's tallest electric guitar set Guinness World Record 2010 - Dubai

Dubai could soon have another entry in the Guinness Book of World Records when Hard Rock Cafe installs the world's tallest guitar to mark its own re-entry to a new location at Dubai Festival City (DFC).

The iconic electric guitar will be visible from the Business Bay Crossing, the Gulf News reported.

The 118-feet guitar will be the tallest anywhere in the world, the newspaper quoted Phillip Evans, Director of Commercial and Retail Leasing for Al Futtaim, which owns DFC, as saying.

Construction of the 26,400 square-foot Hard Rock Cafe is over, but the guitar is still on the drawing board.

The original unit of Hard Rock Cafe located on Sheikh Zayed Road closed in March 2009.
