Largest Cardiopulmonary resuscitation training session set Guinness World Record

          Largest Cardiopulmonary resuscitation training session

6,577 participants plus the mission of one determined University equaled a new Largest CPR training session Guinness World Records record!

Anxiously waiting at the gates of Estadio Jalisco - home of the Mexican football team Leones Negros – people of wildly assorted ages from the general public began to enter the stadium at 9:00am local time to participate in the record attempt.

Guinness World Records adjudicator Danny Girton Jr. was present to assess the record attempt, coordinated by Universidad de Guadalajara Centro Universitario de Ciencias de la Salud (University of Guadalajara Central University of Health Sciences), and to recognize everyone’s extraordinary efforts, following the successful event outcome.

The one hour lesson included two parts: a theory section, led by qualified medical practitioners, which included University graduates; as well as a hands-on section, that allowed participants to apply the theoretical CPR techniques learned, on adult-sized and infant-sized mannequins.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) - is an emergency procedure for people in cardiac arrest or, in some circumstances, respiratory arrest.CPR is performed both in hospitals and in pre-hospital settings.

CPR involves physical interventions to create artificial circulation through rhythmic pressing on the patient's chest to manually pump blood through the heart, called chest compressions, and usually also involves the rescuer exhaling into the patient (or using a device to simulate this) to ventilate the lungs and pass oxygen in to the blood, called artificial respiration. Some protocols now downplay the importance of the artificial respirations, and focus on the chest compressions only (CCR).
