Wasik Farhan Roopkotha - World's youngest computer expert in Bangladesh

Wasik Farhan-Roopkotha - World's youngest computer expert in Bangladesh

A six-year-old boy from Bangladesh is hoping to become the world's youngest computer expert after becoming obsessed with his mother's PC at the age of two.

Wasik Farhan-Roopkotha, who turned six in January, is hoping his skills will be recognised by Microsoft and Guinness World Records.

As a toddler, Wasik started to show an aptitude for computers and before long he had mastered several popular video games, including Modern Warfare and Metal Gear Solid.

He began typing in Microsoft Word as a three year-old and knew how to programme and download game emulators at the age of four.

His mother Cynthia Farhan-Risha said: "I knew he was very different since his birth. I couldn't believe my eyes when he began computing when he was just seven months old.

"Wasik started to play and master many complicated games and started installing them just after he turned two and also started typing in MS Word from around the same time."

By the time he was of school age, Wasik was not integrating at his local primary and so his parents decided it was best for him to be taught at home.

According to his mum, Wasik's English is still fairly limited. But he did have a few words to say in Bengali.

"I really enjoy playing on the computer and learning new skills," he told the BBC.

"My ambition is to be a computer expert and to work for a big computer firm in the future."

Wasik Farhan Roopkotha - who comes across as a very quiet young boy - has now been working with computers for more than four years, but he still enjoys mixing with other children of his age, playing football and listening to music.

World's Youngest Fashion Designer sets world record by Duda Bündchen

World's Youngest Fashion Designer sets world record by Duda Bündchen

We know models are getting younger and younger, but the new girl making waves in the fashion world has really taken us by surprise.

Introducing five-year-old Duda Bündchen. If you feel like you've heard that surname before, it's because it usually follows the forename of arguably the most famous and the certified richest model in the world, Gisele, who is Duda's aunt.

Photo: Duda Bündchen, the World's Youngest Fashion Designer hard at work on her collaborative collection with Brandili Mundi.

For those prone to feeling inadequate about their life achievements so far, perhaps it's best not to read on, for Duda - who was last year named the 'face' of Brazilian children's wear label Brandili Mundi - has this year been signed up as a designer of her first solo collection too...

Designed and produced with eco-friendly materials 'Duda Bündchen for Brandili Mundi' is set to hit stores in July, and has apparently been 'overseen' by the fashion-conscious child from its inception.

The new fashionista is Duda Bunchen, niece to model Gisele Bundchen, who is only five years old.

Germano Costa, commercial and marketing director of Brandili Textil, told Forbes ''She told us about her preferences on prints, cuts and details, and based on the briefing we received from her we came up with a collaborative collection.

"She told us about her preferences on prints, cuts and details, and based on the briefing we received from her we came up with a collaborative collection. The pieces were all approved by Duda, whose romantic inspiration will no doubt catch girls' eyes," the company's commercial and marketing director Germano Costa told Forbes earlier this week.

Clearly comfortable with the glamorous modelling lifestyle already, the rather accomplished (and we'll admit super-cute) 5-year-old poseur can be seen twirling her way around a garden in her hometown of Porto Alegre in the collection's advertising campaign, which was created by a team of 30 photographers, stylists and make-up artists.

Youngest power lifter breaks world record by Naomi Kutin

Youngest power lifter breaks world record by Naomi Kutin

Borough resident Naomi Kutin, 9, set a new all-time power lifting world record for the women’s 97-pound class regardless of age with a squat of 205 pounds. The record-setting accomplishment took place during the 2011 Anti-Drug Athletes United (ADAU) Nationals in Clearfield, Pa., on July 10.

"It is stunning," said her father, Ed Kutin, noting that power lifting includes federations and this record is across all federations.

After the 205-pound squat Naomi leapt into her father’s arms and then ran into the audience to find her mother.

"She knew she did something extraordinary," said her mother, Neshama Kutin.

At 91 pounds, Naomi went nine-for-nine during the contest, setting a new ADAU American record with each attempt in every lifting event, which includes the squat, bench and deadlift.

"She got all nine of nine attempts," said Kutin, who noted those lifts set records in her federation. "She furthered all of her personal goals."

In the squat she lifted 170, 190 and 205 pounds. In the bench press she lifted 60, 70 and 75 pounds. In the deadlift, where she used the sumo stance for the first time, she lifted 165, 185 and 195 pounds. She had a total of 475 pounds.

The record caps off an impressive first year of power lifting. When she started lifting last year Kutin said his daughter had a natural ability that enabled her to succeed quickly, but that during the year she has learned about focus. Neshama Kutin added they have also stressed the importance of the proper form so Naomi does not get injured.

Naomi’s interest in power lifting is part of a family passion. Her father has been lifting for 28 years.

"It has been a very good experience for her," said Ed Kutin.

Neshama Kutin said there is so much camaraderie among the power lifters who have offered Naomi a lot of encouragement. Women across the country have been sending their congratulations to Naomi as well, added her father.

Besides lifting, Naomi, who has four siblings, also enjoys karate and has signed up for basketball.

"She is still a 9 year old," said Neshama Kutin. "She is still our little girl."

Julian Pavone - Youngest professional drummer holds Guinness World Record

Julian Pavone - Youngest professional drummer holds Guinness World Record

Macomb Township's 7-year-old Julian Pavone now holds the Guinness World Record for youngest professional drummer.

Macomb Township’s drumming prodigy, Julian Pavone, has added Guinness World Record holder to his list of achievements–an already extensive list for a 7-year-old.

As of March 21, 2010, Guinness World Records recognized Pavone as the youngest professional drummer in the world.

At 5 years 10 months and three days old, Pavone took the title from Japan’s 9-year 289-day-old Tiger Onitsuka.

“We’re honored to have such a prestigious source acknowledge all of Julian’s hard work," said Bernadino Pavone, Julian's father.

Pavone found his beat early, when at three-months-old he began playing the drums while sitting on his father’s lap. At 15 months old, he accepted his first contract to join the Cleveland Cavalier’s United Drumline as its youngest member by more than 16 years.

His first CD came at 20 months old when he recorded “Go Baby!” with bassist Ralphe Armstrong and now at age 7, he is working on his sophomore CD with Michael J. Powell, a four-time Grammy Award winning producer who has also produced such artists as Aretha Franklin and Anita Baker.

When he is not using his 22-piece custom drum set with 17 cymbals to wow audiences around the world, Pavone attends the University Liggett School.

From radio spots, to television appearances, athletic halftime shows and live performances at legendary concert venues such as Whisky A Go-Go, the Grammy Museum, House of Blues and Hard Rock Café, Pavone is no stranger to fame.

While the raw talent is his alone, Pavone relies on numerous instructors to further hone his skill. These instructors include: George Dunn (drums), Dom Famularo (drums), Dennis Sheridan (percussion), William Winfield, III (drums), Francesco Cavallini (vocals, guitar) and staff at the Macomb Music Center (vocals).

Sufyan Shaikh, the master swimmer from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, has set the Limca Book of the bathing spot for nine of the sea around the world.

"Limca Book of Records has been confirmed by a certificate that I have been involved in India as the first person to swim in nine different oceans around the world", 18, Shaikh said.

"Speaking of nine of the sea must be a question in your mind as you swim in this self-made. No place to swim around in international competitions, which are arranged in a special event at sea."

"And if there are competitions in the sea, in this case there are some associations that organize the crossing of the sea, taking the price for it. For example, the CS & PF to swim the English Channel, he said.

"I took seven races and two borders around the world in different sea areas. I sent my certificates of Limca Book of Records, after which they controlled, and my name on the bill of lading," he said.

Twenty year-old Indian swimmer Sufyan Mohsin Sheikh practices at The Rajpath Club swimming pool in Ahmedabad, Sheikh is set to become the youngest recipient of the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure award, which was announced by the Indian Sport Ministry on August 11.

At just six, Shruti Pandey is the youngest yoga trainer in the world.

The bendy youngster has been teaching adults at an ashram, in northern India, for the last two years.

Her trainer, Hari Chetan, 67, set up the ashram 35 years ago and as soon as little Shruti became one of his students, as a tiny four-year old, he spotted her talents.

Now she starts her classes at 5.30am every morning, at Brahmanand Saraswati Dham, in the Jhunsi town, dressed in white leggings and a red t-shirt surrounded by 30 eager pupils ranging from businessmen, teachers, housewives to pensioners.

Shruti said: 'It feels good when people follow my instructions, I feel like a real teacher.

'I got interested in yoga after seeing my brother do it. I tried picking it up myself but it was too hard. So I asked my parents to send me to yoga classes.'

Her brother, Harsh Kumar, now 11-years-old, made the Limca Book of Records at the tender age of five by learning all 84 yoga positions - but he's never been interested in being a teacher like his sister.

Hari, who Shruti also calls her grandfather, think she's a miracle.

'She's a fast learner and a perfectionist. She grasps techniques quickly unlike kids her own age, who get bored with something as patience consuming as yoga.

'Within just six months of her training, she surprised everyone by doing the toughest positions with ease and perfection. She's a natural.'

Shruti can manage some of yoga's most challenging positions. She can easily hold her entire body on the strength of her little arms and hang her legs right over her head backwards.

One of Shruti's fans, 90-year-old Swami Bhanu, a retired teacher, said: 'The best thing about Shruti is she tries to provide an alternative position for the complicated ones that are difficult for an older person like me to do. She's very patient.'

Businessman Lokendra Pal Singh, 48, has been attending Shruti's classes for three months and said, 'I have noticed a positive change in my life. I used to be short-tempered, but now I'm able to control my anger to quite an extent and it's all thanks to a little six-year old.'
