Most hours worked without a lost time incident set Guinness Records by Fluor Corporation
Fluor Corporation has announced that its Sugar Land office received notification from Guinness World Records confirming Fluor’s safety milestone of reaching 100 million safe work hours without a lost-time incident. Dating back to 1994, the record spans 17 years with thousands of Fluor employees working with no lost-time injuries.
“Congratulations to the Fluor Houston office and Fluor Corporation as a whole,” said Mike Smith, vice president and general manager, Houston Operations. “We are very proud to have achieved this Guinness World Record, which was hard-earned and well deserved. It is a tribute not only to the Houston office, but moreover it serves as a testament to Fluor’s commitment to our safety culture.”
The official Guinness World Record states, “The most zero lost time in man hours is 100,249,425 man hours and was achieved by the Fluor Corporation (USA) in Sugar Land, Texas, USA, on 3 April 2011.” Fluor’s submission was maintained in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s record-keeping guidelines.
Fluor’s Sugar Land office, with more than 2,200 employees, is the center of the company’s Energy & Chemicals Business Group, which performs projects for oil, gas and chemicals clients globally.
