Ultimate Aero to launch world's fastest car in India - Shelby Super Car

Shelby Super Car is planning to eat the biggest pie in the market share of Indian automobile by launching its Ultimate Aero. The US- based automobile manufacturer Shelby Super Car (SSC) is all set to launch the world’s fastest car, Ultimate Aero, in Mumbai in near future.

After the Mumbai launch Delhi is second in the list to see this ultimate car. The Ultimate Aero became the world’s fastest production car, certified by the Guinness Book of World Records. Guinness officials verified the official speed to be .52 kph (.32 mph) faster than SSC had originally noted.

This car is being flashed as the world’s fastest car, with a top speed of 413kmph.The supercar will be available approximately at Rs. 6 crore in India. The Ultimate Aero costs $654,400 in the US, but in India it will attract 100% import duty, which will increase the price tag to Rs. 6 crore. Shelby expects to sell a few dozen of Aeros in India per annum. And they are calculating this by analyzing the poor Indian roads, heavy traffic and fewer buyers of high-segment cars.

Aero attains its speed with a 6.35L twin-turbo V8 engine which runs at 14PSI of boost and produces 1147hp of power at 6950 rpm and 1113NM of torque at 6200 rpm, with a 91 octane fuel. The car is manufactured out of lightweight titanium and carbon fibre material.

The luxury features offered by Ultimate Aero includes, Customised supple leather seats
Suede interior ,Multi-speaker music system ,On-board video with a DVD screen ,Automatic back-up camera ,Navigational backup ,Power windows and mirrors The two-seater, butterfly door (up sky-folding) car runs only on premium unleaded 91 high octane petrol, which is now available in some of India’s largest cities.
The world’s top luxury car manufacturers like Bentley, BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar have seen their sales booming in the past few years in India. The Aero is considered as the competitor of other supercars such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti and Koenigsegg which also comes with numerous luxury features.

India, the world’s second-fastest growing car market, has seen the sales of luxury cars growing at a fast rate in the past one year, despite a global downturn that affected sales in developed markets such as the US and Europe. Sales of high-end cars are expected to cross the 10,000 mark by 2010.
